Ann: 1851 Census says she was born in St. Mew, Cornwall.

Ann is listed as "widow" in 1861 Census. In 1871, 1881 and 1891, Ann was living with Elizabeth and her children.

Family emigrated sometime prior to 1856, when Elizabeth was born in New York.

In 1860, the family lived in Rockland, Ontonagon, Michigan. The Census form lists the Post Office as "Minnesota Mine".

In the 1850's, at the height of the copper boom, the Village of Ontonagon reached a population of 6,000. The Minesota mine which operated near Rockland 1846-1865

paid out millions of dollars in dividends.

When the mines in Rockland closed, the family moved to New Jersey, sometime between 1865 and 1869.. In 1870, The family was living in Rockaway, Morris Co, NJ in same house as Thomas' sister, Agnes and her family. Thomas and Agnes' husband, Nicholas, were Miners. In 1880, the family still lived in Mt. Hope, NJ. Only Esther, John, William, Luella and Laura lived at home.

In the records for Mt. Hope Baptist Church there is a listing for Anna Reiana CLARK Jun 1872 15 Jun 1872 dau of Thomas. This could be a child in this family. May have died as an infant.

Mary: In 1860, Mary A is listed as being born in NY, which means the couple was married in the US, probably c. 1854.

1870 and 1880, she is listed as being born in England.

In 1861, Elizabeth was working as a seamstress and still living with her mother at age 24.

By 1871, Elizabeth is married with an 8 yr old child. We can assume she was married c. 1862.

In 1871 she was still living on Church St. in Liskeard and her mother was living with her.

In 1881 , Elizabeth is widowed. She lived with her mother on Pound St., Liskeard.

She married Mr. Rowe, married c. 1862 in Liskeard, Cornwall, Eng, d. pre 1881.

Mr.: In 1871, Elizabeth is listed as "Miner's wife" with "husband abroad".

In 1881, Nicholas was working as an assistant to John Marsh, a grocer on Treville St. in Plymouth. There was another young man, John Baron, who was Nicholas' age and from Liskeard also working there.

Bessie was not living with her mother in 1891, she may have been married by then.

In 1910 and 1920, Agnes is listed as head of the family. Her son, John Charles, daughter, Nettie and grandson, Charles, lived with her.

Agnes died from a hernia for which an operation was strongly advised, however, she was relaeased from the hospital after an illness of 4 days. In Wallingford, the family lived at 411 Center St. where,until his death in 1996, her grandson, Ben Farrow, still lived.

It's interesting that both Agnes and her brother named children "Elmer".

She married Nicholas C. Rundle, married 20 Oct 1862 in Liskeard, England, b. 7 Nov 1841 in St. Neot, Cornwall, (son of Hugh Brice Rundle and Lydia Cock) d. 1 Jun 1906 in Wallingford, New Haven, CT, buried in Mt.Hope,NJ, resided 411 Center St. in Wallingford, New Haven, CT, occupation Carpenter.

Nicholas: After arriving in the US, the family first lived in Michigan where __ was born. They most probably lived in Rockland, Ontonagon, Michigan where Agnes' brother, Thomas, lived and worked in the Minnesota Mine. In the 1850's, at the height of the copper boom, the Village of Ontonagon reached a population of 6,000. The Minesota mine which operated near Rockland 1846-1865 paid out millions of dollars in dividends.

When the mines in Rockland closed, the family moved to New Jersey, sometime between 1865 and 1869.. In 1870, The family was living in Rockaway, Morris Co, NJ in same house as Agnes' brother, Thomas and his family. Thomas and Agnes' husband, Nicholas, were Miners.

In Mt. Hope, the family belonged to the Mt. Hope Methodist church which was built in 1868 by the mining company for their employees and their families. It has also served as a hospital, and, when needed, as a schoolhouse.Pews in this church were used by the well-to-do parishoners, while the balcony was thought to be sufficient for the miners and their families. The congregation dwindled and eventually the church was closed.

There is a "Rundle Ave." in Mt. Hope, NJ.

At the time of his draft registration he was listed as a "filer" at the Marlin Rockwell Corp. (Gun Mfg.)

In 1930 his occupation is listed as "odd jobs" in the Theater.

On draft documents he is listed as being of Medium height, Stout build, having Blue eyes and brown hair.

Sarah: In 1901, there is a Sarah Clark, married, age 40, b. St. Cleer, working as a servant/nurse in the home of 71 yr old Mary Austin in St. Cleer. Could be this Sarah. Not sure where John is.

According to Ben Farrow, Howard supposedly left one day, said that he would be back in a few days and was never heard from again.

Barbara has a son who is an Olympic Swimming Coach. According to Ben Farrow, she is about 83-4 in 1993.

In 1930, George is listed in census as working at the Roller Paper Mill.

In 1918, George and Jen lived at 326 No. Colony St, Wallingford, CT. George was listed as working for a gun mfg.

George's draft registration lists him as being of short height, medium build, with Blue eyes and brown hair.

Bill Retired from the Wallingford Steel Mill in 1967, but remained as Chairman of the Board for several more years. In 1930, Bill's occupation at the Steel Mill was listed as Purchasing Agent.
